Biography
Alexander Lee grew up in Brookline, MA.
He is Chairman of the Merrimack County
Democrats
and a co-founder of Democracy for New
Hampshire. In 1995, he founded Project Laundry List,
which he still operates today.
A former Assistant to the Commissioners at the New
Hampshire Public Utilities Commission, Mr. Lee was the Staff Co-Chair
of the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners'
Energy Resources & Environment Committee in 2002 & 2003.
In 2004, he was campaign manager for McKim Mitchell's
state senate race against Senate President Tom Eaton. Mr. Lee opened the first NH regional field office for
Gov. Howard Dean, MD, in 2003.
A graduate of Phillips Exeter Academy, with a B.A. in
Environmental Studies from Middlebury College, Mr. Lee holds a J.D.
and Master of Studies in Environmental Law (M.S.E.L.) from Vermont Law
School.
After college, Mr. Lee was an apprentice at
Shelburne Farms, where he taught stewardship, natural history, and
agriculture to kindergarten through sixth grade.
Mr. Lee has participated in the League of Conservation Voters'
Environmental Leadership Institute, the Rockwood Leadership Program,
and
Mesa Refuge
Resident Program.
An avid canoeist, he has lead six 28-day
canoe trips for Camp Keewaydin-Dunmore and is a NOLS Alaska graduate.
He is an avid bread baker and cook.

Maximilian W. Kempner Award Recipient, May 2001
– Given to the Vermont Law School student at graduation who
exemplifies the highest standards of competence, integrity, respect,
fair mindedness, and public service.
Public Service
Leadership Award, May 1997. Middlebury College.
Robbins Memorial Symposium Alumni/ae Community
Service Award, 1997. Phillips Exeter Academy.
The Charles Wyzanski Prize, May 1993 – Given
to the Phillips Exeter Academy student whose ethical beliefs and
practices have contributed significantly to the welfare of the
community.
